Stamp :: Canon Pairings by pear-fairy Stamp :: Canon Pairings by pear-fairy
I wasn't sure if this had been made yet.

I'm not against fan-pairings, but I do enjoy canon more. IT HAS LOGIC BEHIND IT. If you can justify a fan-pairing, then that's good. But some of them... They don't make sense.

Seriously folks, Richter x Isaac? THEY AREN'T EVEN IN THE SAME GAME. I don't care if they look cute together, IT DOES NOT WORK.

I just ship whatever ship I happen to like. Bonus points if it happens to be cannon! :heart:

Canon pairings FTW! I don't have nothing against Crack but sometimes they just don't make sense and would never work :/
LunaStar7 Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2014
The most couples I like are not canonhmm
Kaori-Chan93 Featured By Owner Nov 20, 2014  Hobbyist Filmographer
For me, it depends. There's good canon and bad canon. If the canon couple is well-done, then I'm all 100% over with it. If the canon couple is badly done, then I'll ignore it or simply ship fanon. I love both canon and crack depending of the circumstances.

YES! Someone who respects canon!

I mostly into fanon, but I do like some canon pairings :D
KeeperoftheKeys92 Featured By Owner Sep 3, 2013
RIGHT ON.  Canon couples FTW!! Heart  I only like non-canon pairings if they have a little logic or union between them, which unfortunately most don't.  Crack pairings where the two characters wanna kill eachother, already have canon love interests, or are put together for no other reason that they "look good together" are such a turn off to me.
Niarahime Featured By Owner May 12, 2013
:nod: Me too. While I have nothing against and even like some non-canon/OC-cannon pairings, the majority of the time I'm fine with and quite like the cannon pairings. ^^
Harmony-Borealis Featured By Owner Mar 22, 2013
I usually prefer canon pairings in general as they usually make sense and are cute/they really love each other, but there are a few canon pairings I don't like, or have a few crack pairing guilty pleasures. :giggle:
PizzaPotatoNBacon Featured By Owner Feb 19, 2013  Student General Artist
Me too! It's like, I want the characters to choose whoever they want. If that makes sense.
But I love "shipping" fan pairings for fun. =P
BreakingSasuke Featured By Owner Apr 26, 2012
I like both canon and crack. I just hate the canon fantards that may shove crap up my face when
I may not like particular canon pairings like Kataang....But VegetaXBulma is my life of DBZ~~ :heart:

I love canon :D
lizshutterbug Featured By Owner Sep 12, 2011
If an author, who seems to have good grasp of the characters can create an interesting, off-the-wall pairing inside a nicely written piece of fiction, I can enjoy it. I still tend to like canon pairings more though...

But some can surprise you that you've never thought of and make you think and see another side of the characters that could work. (but not for the sake of just writing them to have sex, I hate that. I DEFINITELY do not mind reading about sex, just not the ones that are nasty just because you can be)
lizshutterbug Featured By Owner Sep 12, 2011
And I would like to say that some crack fics are humorous and fun to read just for shits and giggles. lol I don't really take them seriously. :)

I'm lost. I see this word everywhere, but could you explain me what "canon" means please ? ^^;
Eclipsethehedgehog19 Featured By Owner Aug 11, 2011  Hobbyist Digital Artist
A Canon Pairing is a pairing where the game itself features two characters who are in love with each other. It' should I say this...official.

Sorry if you still haven't got what I mean. ;n;
Nokiramaila Featured By Owner Aug 13, 2011  Student Digital Artist
Oh, ok, I get it ! Thank you ! Don't worry, your explanations were very clear :meow:

I like canon too! I mean, I'm not a hater towards slashers and I try to respect opinions, but I still stick to canon fanart.
MarioLuigi25 Featured By Owner Mar 30, 2011
I like canon and crack pairings.
lilacbird Featured By Owner Jan 30, 2011
I do enjoy some canon pairings, too! However, not all canon pairings make sense, as with fan pairings... But I also like some nonsensical pairings so :P

I do!
The only canon-pairing I don't like is EdWin (Edward Elric and Winry)
GOTENandPARESfan Featured By Owner Dec 4, 2010
i agree!!!! i only support canon couples, and fanon couples IF THEY MAKE SENSE.

Canon = Logic = :heart:
Ni-ni-ni Featured By Owner Oct 21, 2010
The story's logic is key in deciding what pairings I support. I usually go for canon ones (even though I'd rather take the place of the heroine =] ), but some canon pairings are downright creepy in how big the age gaps might be in some fandoms. A lot of manga end with a girl about 13/14 getting together with a guy who's 16/17. Even though the gap might be only 4 years, when it comes to maturity and emotional levels, the age gap is actually HUMONGO. It comes off as being almost pedophilic and pervy. And don't get me started on "Labyrinth"... 6_6

Sorry for ranting... ^^;
MrsZeldaOfHyrule Featured By Owner Aug 4, 2010
i like fan pairings but some of them can be really dumb
SarcasticMamba Featured By Owner Jul 24, 2010
Aweh...too bad most of the pairings in my fandom aren't canon.
I can think of three, maybe four that are technically canon in Hetalia. Sufin, Austria/Hungary, Chibitalia/HRE, and GerIta (which can be pulled off as a friendship)
But it's a lot of shiptease really.
Well, and there was that one time with Japan and Greece in the webcomic-- anyay.
I ship most things in that series anyway.

I tend to like canon pairings and a few others in the other fandoms I've been in.
So I'm not sure if that counts xD
ShadesofJades Featured By Owner Jul 18, 2010  Student Traditional Artist
Ah, canon pairings. I do like them. But there are just some that I don't like. Meh...
kaikaku Featured By Owner May 28, 2010  Hobbyist General Artist
Haha, but sometimes the point is to make a pairing so cracky that it's ridiculous. At least, that's the way I see it. XD

But seriously, I usually like whatever's canon and then I sometimes get into fanon things, or make stuff up.

Cool stamp!
blowyourownapple Featured By Owner Apr 19, 2010  Hobbyist Digital Artist
em... what is a Canon paring?^^;
SarcasticMamba Featured By Owner Jul 24, 2010
Something where the two in the pairing end up together in the series rather than just in fandom.

...which Hetalia has very little be honest ^^;
blowyourownapple Featured By Owner Jul 24, 2010  Hobbyist Digital Artist
i see

mixy-shiru Featured By Owner Apr 3, 2010
Most of them follow the logic...

but another ones are just.... no.
they don't work at all, at least for me c:

But still, most of them are made for a reason

OMG YES. This stamp is made of pure win, drizzled all over with awesomesauce. :D

EdWin, Royai, LingxRanFan and all other FMA canon pairings FTW!!! (THANK YOU Arakawa for making all your couples' relationships so awesome and worthy of obsessing over!)

faya27 Featured By Owner Mar 10, 2010
Alleluia!! Somebody agrees with me! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who does love canon pairings!
Canon pairings have logic unlike most crack pairings. Seriously, Ariel/Jim Hawkins!?! Ariel/Peter!? Ariel/Gaston?? Come on people!! Those Disney characters are NOT from the same movie!!
Ariel is from the Little Mermaid.
Gaston is from Beauty and the Beast.
Peter is from Peter Pan.
Jim Hawkins is from Treasure Planet.
Ariel marries Prince Eric
Gaston died from falling off Beast's castle.
Peter stays single and continues his life on Neverland.
Jim Hawkins didn't marry anyone.
lilacbird Featured By Owner Feb 27, 2010
I enjoy some canon too :) Just as I enjoy some non-canon!
Kazimi-chan Featured By Owner Feb 21, 2010
I like Canon usually because they make sense. But I don't only love that XD. Most of the time, I don't realize they're canon 'til I look it up x)
But some crack pairing are horribly odd. Some are cute because if you think "If they ever met, it would be the cutest thing ever" but it all depends on how they would REALLY act if they met eachother XD
I can't think of many, but one crack pairing I find ridiculous is ItachixHinata. o.o
Arukain Featured By Owner Feb 7, 2010
I love canon as much as the next person, but when certain fandoms such as APH are involved, it's pretty clear what is canonized and what is gray-zoned--as well as what's just plain illogical (Unless the said pairing is done for shits and giggles beforehand).
Minna-chan Featured By Owner Jan 13, 2010
I don't really take notice of if something's canon or not when I start liking it, but I try to keep in mind not everyone likes everything. I've noticed that I fall for non-canon way more often that canon these days though... They're usually so boring.
"Weird" pairings are a completely different things, like mentioned cross-over pairing. Now that doesn't make sense. Also writing/drawing/etc characters WAY out of character is just... they're not the same character(s) anymore!!
It's a little silly how it seems generally people think they have the right to complain about non-canon fan stuff to people who like something said complainer doesn't... The non-canon fans are way more open-minded.
Mocha-Rush Featured By Owner Dec 18, 2009
I agree whole heartedly. I'm also one for liking more than one pairing... for example Roxas x Namine is the hinted/canon for Roxas, but I see Axel x Roxas' appeal, because of their closeness and certain lines they have. So I like both the canon and popular slash/non-canon. I do this for a lot of fandoms and pairings. ;)

ayuICHI Featured By Owner Dec 13, 2009  Hobbyist General Artist
Totally agree :heart: I must admit, I did have a time where I enjoyed the most random crack pairings, but as I've gotten older and take writing seriously, I now feel sorry for all these writers and such who have to deal with people pairing their characters for no substantial reason.

I understand pairing non-canon couples like "Oh X and Y are going out but Z is so cute and likes Y and he deserves to be with her y'know?" but when it's like "OMG F AND L ARE SO SEXY TOGETHER WHO CARES IF THEY'RE BOTH GAIZ AND LIKE GURLZ ITS SO HAWT LOLOL SEXY" I wanna hit them with a frying pan. :] So thank you for this stamp, I'll be adding it to my journal, now.
